Jeff Soto's "The Candy Eaters" wood print and October contest

 

We are releasing a new print this Thursday- "The Candy Eaters". It is the seventh print in Soto's Seeker Friends set. These prints come out monthly, on the first Thursday of the month.

Soto says, "I chose a Halloween theme for this print because it's been all my daughters talk about lately. It's exciting seeing Halloween through their eyes. The design is two kids ready for a night of trick or treating- I think of them as siblings like my daughters."

Halloween is Soto's favorite holiday and it mixes in perfectly with the world he has created. Past prints in the Seeker Friends set include "The Gardener", "The Menace" and "The Guitarist".

"I have always loved Halloween imagery and decorations" says Soto, "the green skeletons, creepy owls, glowing pumpkins and spiders... I wanted this print to have that traditional feel. I'm old enough to remember when Halloween was not a bunch of plastic Batman and Transformers costumes. I prefer the creepier traditional side of Halloween."

This is a 6" x 6" UV print on sustainable FSC certified 3/4" plywood. Comes ready to hang, and is signed and numbered. This is the seventh print in a series of these little creatures. "The Candy Eaters" was inspired by Soto's two daughters and his own love of Halloween.

This is a timed edition and will be available for one day only! The print will be available starting October 4th at noon PST and will be available for 24 hours. Eddie Vedder Europe Tour Posters

I completed four designs for the recent Eddie Vedder tour, one for each of the venues he played at- Amsterdam, Manchester, London and Portugal. All are editions of 100 and will each be available for $55 + shipping. I've tried to space these out the best I can, however I will be traveling extensively in August/September so I've decided to sell these on days when I am at the studio. Here's the schedule:

"The Guitarist" original art giveaway!

So... we decided to do a fun little thing for "The Guitarist" and every Seeker Friend print we release from here on out. We're giving away the original painting to one lucky person! Everyone who buys "The Guitarist" is automatically entered. One customer will be picked randomly after the sale ends. More info will be available, and some rules apply (we don't want originals to wind up on eBay!). We're going to try this each month, as a thanks to one (super) lucky fan.

The original is acrylic on deckled edged Arches watercolor paper, 5.5" x 5.5", and painted in July 2012.Someone will win this!

France part 2!

Better late then never! These are pictures from Lyon and Paris from last September.

The train to Paris. I was going into the city to attend the opening of "HEY: Modern Art and Pop Culture" at Halle Saint Pierre Museum. Wow the French countryside is amazing and beautiful...

 

Paris was fun though I was only there two nights. Got to explore underground with some friends... and I brought some chalk...

 

 

I suck at all nighters these days, but I had a great time. Got back to my hotel with enough time to take a much needed shower before going to meet press (and some clowns) at the museum. My friend Dave Cooper was in Paris as well! The opening was a bit later so I squeezed in a nap between press interviews and the nightime opening. I felt like I was squandering my time sleeping, but Paris will be around...

 

AlexOne had a nice piece in the show.

 

Got to meet and hang out with Jean Claude Mezieres, the famous French comic artist. Turns out, he's married to my grandma's cousin!

The next morning, Dave and I met Jean Claude at his studio...

And back on the fast train to Lyon to paint some more...

Dinner with friends in Lyon! Reg Mombossa, Naoto Hattori, Caia Koopman, Nicolas Thomas, Odo, and Kevin, Jerome and the rest of the Spacejunk crew.... Yes, I tried a small piece of horse... and I'm kind of ashamed (dammit is was actually pretty good).

Happy Sperm!  I think all the wine gave me more courage than normal...

The next day got to finishing my large chat mural.
