Tiny Showcase- "Self Destructive" print

Thanks to all who purchased my print yesterday from Tiny Showcase. Apparently, it was a record breaking night at TS and my print sold out in minutes! I guess it made some problems too...

I was told it lagged their server pretty bad and there was a problem with Paypal- from what I understand the print isn't reduced from the total edition until the transaction is complete, so sometimes with a fast selling print, people will add the last print at the same time and then they can ALL buy the last print, as they are all doing it at the same time. Basically what happened is the print somehow oversold by 100 in the one or two minutes it was available. They are not sure if it was a glitch in the Paypal system or what, but there were 300 sold plus or minus a few.

So I had to make a tough decision- have TS refund payment to 100 of my fans, or make the print an edition of 300 to ensure everyone gets one? I thought about it all night, and I think the best thing to do is make it a larger edition ensuring no one's disappointed. To those who are bummed about buying a larger edition, let TS know and they can refund your money- there are still many who did not get one. I'd like to do another print with Tiny Showcase, and we will come up with a better system to keep the numbers accurate from the get go.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate the support, I feel the love from you guys. Sorry for the glitch, and let me know your thoughts...

Thanks Jeff! This seems like the best option. It took some furious pleading with the gods of the internet to get the Tiny Showcase site to load, so I am very glad you've decided to go with a larger edition. I think I'd be very sad if I got an email saying I'd actually missed out.
I don't think anyone could complain about the larger edition when it's such a great print at this price.
Looking forward to receiving mine :)

Pretty impressive stuff Jeff! Too bad about the servers having a hard time, I found it pretty hard to get a print myself so I'm personally just happy to get my hands on any number. I think that most people would feel the same way and I think it's might good of you to consider a run of 300 and look after your fans :)

I think that's the fair thing to do, especially since I may be one of the people that the print got over sold too. Thanks.

hi jeff, i was bummed that i missed out by i don't know how many seconds. i was in class (printmaking at rcc!) and kept refreshing my browser. i wasn't quick enough on my blackberry :(
your solution isn't best. BEST solution is to have another wee print on tinyshowcase. quick like!

Thanks Jeff. I'm pretty certain I got mine in within the first two hundred. I think its great that you are expanding the edition size. I would rather see 100 happy fans than 100 people who thought they had it and then got shafted. I love this piece, keep up all the great work. see you at BTV and hopefully comic-con.

Cheers,

I'm just happy to finally own a print of yours. I don't care what edition size it is. Applause for upping the number for your fans.

i was about to post and agree that increasing the print edition size is the best plan of action, and then i saw Mr's comment that he (she?) was number 8... i was also number 8! now i definitely am in favor of increasing the edition size!

great print, btw. tiny showcase is always an amazing place to buy prints, and it has been made even more amazing with the inclusion of your art.

Jeff,

Very cool all the way around. I had a bad time with PP. Any chance this piece is going to be signed? Look forward to more of your work, tiny or otherwise.

I think it's amazing of you to make a larger edition! I was so confused that my paypal transaction actually went through, so I just assumed I got the last one. I might have gotten the last of the extra 100. :) And I'm really happy and excited about it.

You rock guy for going with the increased run. I've been collecting art for years and understand the value of limited editions, but I still liked seeing larger runs so more people can enjoy an artist's work. I've followed you from virtually day one and your a genuinely nice man. I can't wait to self destruct my living room wall.

Damn. I missed out all around on this one. *sigh*

Hey it's not like you went from 100 to 5000. 100 and 300 are still quite limited runs.

great print!!! congrats on the amazingly quick sell out!!!

i was just curious if there was some extra money being donated to Sea Shepherd Conservation Society because of the extra print run? i sure do hope so, it will make my purchase that much more enjoyable.
